My Career
Ivana Keser is engaged in multimedia art, essayism, performance, photography, film, artistic research. She took her MFA in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, class of Đuro Seder (1992). She received PhD in film studies (2009), at the Postgraduate study of literature, performing arts, film and culture at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. Since 2010 she has been on the faculty of the Academy, in the New Media department. She also teaches at the Music Academy in Zagreb, she lectured at the Postgraduate studies at Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb and University North (Koprivnica).
ACHIEVEMENT
She has exhibited at institutions like the 1st European Biennale in Rotterdam (Manifesta I, 1996), the Austrian Triennale of Photography In Graz (1996), the Kyoto Biennale; Kyoto Art Center (2003), the exhibition Central and Eastern European art since 1949. years at the Museum of Modern Art Vienna (2000), the Sala Montcada, Fundacio “La Caixa”, Barcelona (2000), The Exhibition Marking the Territory, the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin (2001), the exhibition Sous les ponts, le long de la rivière…, Casino Luxembourg Forum D’art contemporain, Luxembourg (2001), MoMA New York (Eye on Europe, Prints and multiples, 1960/ till Now (2006), the exhibition Workers Leaving the Workplace, Muzeum Sztuki, Lodz, Poland (2010), MAMCO in Geneva, the show One Sixth of the Earth: ecologies of the images, at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MUSAC), Leon, Spain (2013); the ZKM (Karlsruhe), the exhibition Through a Forest Wilderness, actions in the forest, performance, conceptual art, events from the 1960s to the present, Brandenburgischer Kunstverein Potsdam Kunstverein Potsdam (2013), the exhibition We are not like them MMSU, Rijeka (2019), Fotogalery Dubrava Zagreb (2023), The Visible Ones, MSU, Zagreb (2023), Natura Poetica MSU, Zagreb (2026).
Her artistic work has been included in publications such as; Eye on Europe: Prints, Books & Multiples/ 1960 to Now edited by MoMA New York (2006) / Primary Documents edited by (MoMA) New York (2002) / Looking, Telling, Thinking, Collecting: Four directions of the Artist’s book from the Sixties to the Present, Casa del Mantegna of Mantova (2003). Her work was included in the University visual art textbook Preble’s Artforms: An Introduction to the Visual Arts (New Jersey, 2009).
